About us
Social Impact Meetup was founded by Amaris White and Kate Carney in 2019 in NYC. Amaris was building out a corporate program for her nonprofit and Kate was working in CSR for a Fortune 100 company. Their work-related partnership was coming to an end, but they wanted to stay in touch. Figuring other colleagues in this space would also want to connect with others, they emailed a few people who thought might be interested in getting together and met at a coffee shop on a Tuesday evening after work. Since then the network has grown to a 100 social impact professionals and we’ve hosted dozens of meetups that have created new job opportunities, friendships, and a community of change-makers committed to making the world a better place. Under the executive committee leadership of Amaris White, Janezee Bond, Kate Carney, and Udarie Fernando, we’re excited to grow our network of professionals and next chapter of the meetup community.
